  • A. We help provide a variety of strategic infrastructure and project-based evaluation services that help organizations creating social good better tell the story of their work. It’s easy to tell the story of an individual success story, what’s harder is to tell the collective story of all the clients that organizations serves without reducing them to just numbers. Please see our services page for more info on what we can help with.

    A. Any organization within the United States! Unfortunately, as of now we do not have the capacity to work with international organizations, but we are working on some web-based tools to share with everyone.

    A. First, we’re really nice. Second, we really care about non-profit and social good work (not only because we’ve done a lot of it ourselves!). It’s our experience that most research and evaluation services are out of reach for the organizations doing the best for their communities on the ground. Our services are low-cost and project based. We don’t bill hourly, because we don't believe it’s the fairest way to business.

    A. After a set-up consultation we’ll provide you a project plan that outlines everything we think could help your organization grow and succeed in purposeful storytelling. Once we get your project plan approved we’ll move forward with the services that are the best fit for your organization’s work. If you already have data you want analyzed and or help using data for grant applications and reporting we can lend a hand with that too! Everything we do is designed to facilitate your organization’s sustainability so that eventually everything can be handled in-house and scaled up as you grow.

    A. The inspiration behind the name comes from To Kill a Mockingbird and the integrity that story represents. One of the most famous quotes from the book is:

Mockingbirds don’t do one thing but make music for us to enjoy. They don’t eat up people’s gardens, don’t nest in corncribs, they don’t do one thing but sing their hearts out for us. That’s why it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird. -Harper Lee

To everyone at Mockingbird, that’s what the best of non-profits are, beautiful places meant just to do good and create a better world. Our goal is to help you tell your story for a purpose, through data and analysis, to grow and fund more work and make the world a better place.
